Inaugurated on 22 April 2017, la Seine Musicale is both a bold
architectural project and major place for music in the west of Paris. My first
visit was for a Tigran Hamasyan concert in October 2017. What a knock out! Tigran shocked
me, but the excellent sound quality and the place were also amazing. We were in
the Auditorium, built in the shape of a beehive with numerous alcoves. We were
bees there to admire the queen. This building is the work of two renowned
architects, Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines. Its general appearance combines
an ocean liner with a giant sail, a photovoltaic panel that moves on rails
every 15 min. La Seine Musicale is a 36 500 m2 space dedicated
to all types of music with two concert rooms, the Grande Seine and the
Auditorium. It can be easily accessed on line M9 (terminal), and I strongly
suggest you go for a stroll on Ile Seguin. Music, restaurants, stores
associated with art and beautiful landscaping can all be enjoyed.
